Building with care

I have been developing web applications for a little while now. Across different parts of the stack, I found my passion in frontend development—especially the sweet spot where technical craft meets advocacy for diverse, inclusive, accessible, and ethical software.

Design systems are one way I pursue that goal: building the individual pieces carefully and making accessibility systematic. That passion led me to GitHub, where I worked as a design systems engineer on Primer Design System for over two years.

Thinking at scale

Working as a platform engineer added an invaluable perspective to my skill set: solving problems at scale, seeing the bigger picture, and recognising how one small change can ripple across a product ecosystem. It suited something that comes naturally to me: noticing patterns, making connections, and thinking about how individual pieces interact as part of a larger system.

I now work on the other side of that spectrum as a software engineer on GitHub Issues, where I'm fortunate to practice inclusive development in my day-to-day work.

Making space

Community is an important part of my life, and I care deeply about supporting marginalised genders and identities in tech. I previously co-organised Muses Brisbane, running software development meetups for women and non-binary people, and today I co-chair a GitHub employee resource group supporting marginalised genders in tech.

Beyond the screen

Away from the screen, I'm happiest in the slow moments: basking in the sun with Qara, a book in one hand and coffee in the other, or collecting shells as we walk along the beach. I also love exploring Western Australia with my family, watching the sun set over the ocean, sharing a good glass of wine, camping somewhere beautiful, or heading off on a long road trip.
