Anxious People

Fredrik Backman

I think Fredrik Backman has a gift for simple, accessible writing that carries real emotional weight. This book is genuinely funny, but also warm and wholesome.

What I loved most is the idea at the heart of it; nobody, not a single person, has life fully figured out. Everyone is simply doing their best. It sounds simple, but F.B. makes you feel it.

The non-linear structure threw me off a few times, but it all comes together by the end in a way that feels satisfying.

I'd recommend this to anyone who finds comfort in knowing they're not alone in life's struggles. If you love writing that is unpretentious but wise, this one is a good one.

Oh also, four stars isn't really a critique. it's a just feeling but it's a good one 💜
